The shoes were the source of that pop of color that we ran with for the decor theme. We repeated this color whenever possible as can be seen by using the orchids in the bouquets (also in the gals' hair) and even in the chair sashes and napkins. The fabric details were done alternating the vibrant blue with lime green so it all came together with a strong color statement.

Don't be afraid of the element of surprise. Use textures to your advantage as they add a pop of color and whimsy to your decor. This is especially effective when working in a somewhat rustic location. Here we combined wool, branches, feathers, natural greeneries and a combination of flowers from sophisticated to casual.

The hint of feather of the bouquet reinforced the blue color theme running throughout the event decor

Using these natural elements to our advantage it created a colorful backdrop and, even better, provided great textural interest.

This event was spirited with fun being the foundation on which everything else was planned. This was a gathering of friends and family over several days at this venue and the decor accents here illustrate the mood of those in attendance. We had a great time!

Remember your natural environment when deciding on decor. Work with what you have around you rather than working against it. This is a perfect example as the venue was Oak Island Resort. The color scheme was harmonious to the environment and we used natural elements whenever possible to give additional texture to the decor.

The urns were first used at the site of the outdoor ceremony near the beach. Later they were brought in to the reception room where they worked equally well as we ensured some of the same vessel elements were also used repeatedly as elements throughout the ballroom and lobby area.
